Elevate your Experience

…A Guide to Preparing for your Massage

Preparing yourself and your space for your mobile massage is key to a spa-worthy experience. This guide is to make sure you know what to expect, so that you can have a seamless and luxurious mobile massage.

Your treatment begins the moment you book it – the knowledge that you have invested in your body and mind, and the anticipation of the deep relaxation to come are positive psychological changes which commence your massage experience. The perfect massage comes from synergy between you and your massage therapist; how you prepare for your massage marks the first part in this collaboration. By preparing your space thoughtfully, you begin to create a blissful experience for yourself before I even set off.

Space

The most important thing thing is to make sure you have a space big enough for your massage. I bring a massage table with me which is about the size of a yoga mat, and we will need enough space for me to move comfortably around and access all sides of it (and you!) - 2 x 3 metres is plenty.

So long as there is enough space, we can be in whichever room you choose. If possible, though, choosing somewhere with fewer stairs makes my day a little easier. If you preferred room is up or down stairs, please do go with this and just make sure that there is a clear, safe path along the stairs and to the room you’ve chosen.

Sheets

I ask all mobile clients to provide their own linen. A single-size fitted sheet makes a perfect cover for the massage table, and a soft, warm blanket or crisp white sheet (depending on the season) makes the ideal cover for you. Heated throws make a lovely winter addition. Fundamentally, we will need one sheet to cover the massage table, and something else for you to lie under.

I will work with whatever you provide, but if you’re at all worried about sheets, please message me. A chic looking massage table set-up is utter bliss, but do avoid priceless cashmere blankets or precious hand-me-downs as I cannot guarantee no wax or oil will get onto them.

Music

I bring a UE Boom Bluetooth speaker and have playlists I love to use, but if you have an incredible soundsystem please get this set up ahead of time and we will use that! If you have a playlist you’d like me to play, just send that over to me.

Air

If you have a favourite scented candle, have it burning for ten minutes or so before your massage begins to give it time to fragrance the room. If your house can get chilly, make sure to turn the heating on in advance or have a heated throw to hand. Your body temperature is likely to drop as you relax, so do factor this in.

Communication

Please get in touch about anything you have any questions at all about. Receiving your massage at home means your entire experience can be tailored to your preferences, and I am here to help facilitate that. If you want to talk about anything before your treatment, just ask.
